The project unfolds on the basis of the four parameters that define a Niu Green flat: energy and water, materials and health.
The first step was to achieve a layout that would ensure most areas were well-lit: two corridors were taken out and the areas were linked in order to turn the flat around towards the façade.
Given that the flat is between party walls, it was solely necessary to provide thermal insulation and soundproofing for the main façade and the side over the light well, making it possible to reuse the existing radiator heating system; however, it was organised into zones by means of home automation control.
Home automation has also made it possible to reuse the water from the bath for the toilet. Furthermore, we implemented the system that allows to reuse cold water from the shower while waiting for the warm water to come through.
Natural wood stood out as the characteristic material in the dwelling: as insulation between the daytime area and the bedrooms, in the kitchen cabinets, in the double door leading into the games room and even in the reused shelves adapted for the headboard-bookcase in the master bedroom.
Indeed, the rooms have been transformed into areas free from environmental pollution and free from radiation.
