Comprehensive renovation of a flat in El Clot
PROJECTE FLANDES
The dwelling has a square floor plan with plenty natural light. However, the original layout of the dwelling prevented it from being possible to make the most of the nearly 90 m2 square.
The transformation of this flat with a minimal intervention was achieved by moving the toilet that was in the middle to one side to make it possible to connect the three façades and remove excess hallway space. By forming an open plan kitchen and lounge with a breakfast bar and regaining the former terrace, the layout was complete.
This intervention adheres to the philosophy of the three Rs: Reduce, maintaining the kitchen and some windows and balcony doors thus extending the operating life of parts in good condition; Reuse, making the most of the heating and cooling system by adjusting the radiators to the new layout and adapting the existing lighting and furniture; and Recycle, reusing the doors of an old flat in the Eixample. As in the other projects, we reduced water consumption thanks to a system that prevents shower water from being wasted while waiting for the warm water to come through.
